Red Suitcase

I'm scrambling to fit six months into a medium-sized red suitcase. Let's hope I don't take someone else's red suitcase at the airport, which has definitely happened before, resulting in no clothes or shoes.

My flight tomorrow is kind of crazy with the time zone differences and an eight hour stopover. I don't travel with ease, so I'm worried I'll lose my carry-on bag or passport. Being totally alone is simultaneously exciting and terrifying... but I'll be fine.

I'm barely taking anything but my suitcase is 25kg and a bit of a pain for my arms which seriously lack muscle. My first stop is Ho Chi Minh airport. I was thinking of exploring Vietnam during my stopover, since I've never been, but it requires a visa and I'm too lazy to apply. I plan to sit and people watch, read a book and eat. I mean, what else can I do?

It was a bit weird saying my goodbyes because I still don't feel like I'm leaving for such an extended period of time. I realised that I won't be physically seeing all these people. Sometimes, if I don't see a face for ages, I kind of forget its unique expressions and features. I don't entirely forget, but it becomes a little hazy, like it's part of a dream. The voice, however, is always etched in my memory.

It's only six months so I doubt I would actually forget anyone's face (I'm just being dramatic haha).

Next post will probably be during my stopover if I find excellent WiFi.
