The lead-up to my departure at Melbourne airport involved my uncontrollably sobbing mum and my dad taking pictures of this groundbreaking moment where I look like a red-eyed pufferfish. I'd rather not include those pictures.
My stopover had terrible WiFi meaning I was stuck in an airy, empty dining room staring at planes.
My view for 8 hours
Whilst I didn't lose anything, it was definitely the worst flying experience. I was absolutely exhausted from the time zones, long waits and being seated next to the not-so-greatest person (I was so scared). It was pretty bad, but I was glad I arrived safely.
Incheon airport's speedy internet and clean, sleek design made me happy- I absolutely love this airport. I then found Elysha an hour later who flew in from Indonesia. I hadn't seen her in about 3 months so it was really great to see her face and listen to her voice again.
Our first meal was at a Korean cuisine buffet which is inside a department store. There was traditional interior design and a large array of options. I was feeling quite sick from the flights so I couldn't eat much, defeating the purpose of a buffet, but the food was really well prepared.
Food baby number 100000
We were then kindly driven by my family friend around Yonsei University and struggled to find the SK Global House dormitory to suss out how it looks. Elysha and I will be moving into the dorms on Monday and we realised just how big and hilly the University is. The campus was picturesque, with the silhouettes of the winter trees amongst the blanket of grey fog.
I prefer this chilly, smoky weather over the summer hotness.
